Teaching Testimonials
On our first day of class, Lori took the time to look through each student's work and learn about our backgrounds, our skills and our interests. This introduction set a tone for both the classes I took with her: we benefited not only from her incredible artistic ability and practical advice about the greeting card and children's book industries, but also from her warm, enthusiastic teaching style and genuine interest in her students. Lori considered our individual abilities and pushed us to develop our skills and explore new styles. But she also made classes fun and playful, bringing in new materials for us to experiment with and guiding us through long projects and painful edits with humor and good advice. She created a comfortable group atmosphere and encouraged us to learn from each other, to share resources and ideas, and to develop a useful critical vocabulary. Not only did I produce some of my best work in Lori's classes, I had fun doing it.
